In the 50 years since graduation John has worked as Project Engineer, Chief Engineer, and Director of Engineering, in the design and application of Industrial combustion and environmental control equipment and systems.  His technical specialty is in air pollution control and energy recovery.  In 2003 he semi-retired from full time corporate life as Vice President of MPM Technologies & General Manager of Huntington Environmental Systems.  He is currently working with companies with emerging energy efficient environmental technologies in the areas of product and business development.  John and his wife Susan are native St Louisans, lived in 4 states during his career, and have 4 children and 6 grandchildren.  Both are lifelong Cardinal baseball fans.  They recently moved their home and business to the Indianapolis Indiana area to be near more of their family.  John has served MS&T as an Admissions Ambassador is a new member of The Order of The Golden Shillelagh. Has also participated in Chicago and Indianapolis Alumni Section activities.

John & Sue are active in their local church, the Gideon Ministry, Young Life an outreach to high school students, and YoungLives outreach and support for teen moms.  John has participated in 11 mission trips (4 with Sue).  Several were to the Russian Republic (English camps), with the most recent a sports camp to Nicaragua where basic baseball instruction was provided including opportunities to share their Christian faith.  A special memory was getting to know one of the local ministry staff named Ozzie with whom I shared one of my favorite Cardinal Tee shirts summarizing Ozzie Smith’s career.  John and Sue love to travel to scenic and historic places.  John likes all outdoor sports and activities especially sailing.
